I remember when I first got my rice cooker. It was the first household appliance that I actually bought for myself. I was so nice to it. After I'd use it, I'd wash each part of it, dry it with the kitchen towel and put it all back nicely... I dusted it... I made sure I didn't scratch the teflon when I scooped out of it... I treated it very well.
Now that it's gone... I realize that maybe I'm learning not to be so attached to objects. This time, my cup was "jarred" and it didn't spill over any bitter water. I'm actually really encouraged by that.
The story is that... Vicky... ok... this is the 2nd time that she's burned the rice cooker. The first time... it was like... aww... it's ugly now... but it still works... this time.. it's completely gone. She accidentally turned on the burner underneath the rice cooker and left the kitchen. She came back to fire and brimstone. Lucky, she is a quick thinker and she put it out without getting hurt. Our stovetop is a bit of a mess right now but no permanent damage done, I think. I hope.
Praise God.
